Chapter 16
Sneek's lobster party.
Every year in August there is a lobster party at Sneek's place. He has
only first-class, expensive and very fine lobsters and he had no
intention of paying for them. He picks up the phone, dials the number
and everything is arranged. He has to call a new store every year
and this year it happened to be the Martin Olsson Ltd. This is what
happened:
| | Woman: | -Martin Olsson.
| |
Sneek: | -I would like to talk to the chief boss at your store, what was his
name again?
| |
Woman: | -You mean director Nilsson?
| |
Sneek: | -Yes, may I speak with him?!
| |
Woman: | -Just a moment.
..............
| |
Nilsson: | -Nilsson.
| |
Sneek: | -Well, I was looking for the chief boss, is that you?
| |
Nilsson: | -Yes, it's me.
| |
Sneek: | -Good afternoon. My name is director Sneek of the Oden Company (a local
famous company).
| |
Nilsson: | -Hello!
| |
Sneek: | -Well, I was in your store last Saturday and bought three kilos of
first-class lobsters, like it was written on the sign.
| |
Nilsson: | -I see.
| |
Sneek: | -The price for one kilo was two hundred.
| |
Nilsson: | -Yes, that's right.
| |
Sneek: | -Well, I put them into the refrigerator for one night and the next
day I had some business friends coming over for a nice dinner.
| |
Nilsson: | -I see.
| |
Sneek: | -When we took them out and opened the box, my whole apartment was
stinking!
| |
Nilsson: | -Oh dear!
| |
Sneek: | -Well, we saved our dinner by going to the night-open store around
the corner and bought frozen shrimps instead. But the dinner wasn't
the same as planned of course.
| |
Nilsson: | -I understand. I'm so sorry, but we haven´t got any complaint before.
There must have been something wrong.
| |
Sneek: | -Well, you may say that, because they should hold over a night in the
refrigerator shouldn't they?
| |
Nilsson: | -Yes, they should.
| |
Sneek: | -Well, now I want a compensation for that. I'll send my driver to you
around three o'clock and I expect you to give him three kilos fresh
lobsters and for free of course?!
| |
Nilsson: | -Yes of course. Can you send these old lobsters back?
| |
Sneek: | -Send them back? Do you expect me to keep rotten
animals in my apartment?!
| |
Nilsson: | -No, of course not. It's gonna be fine, don't worry. I will personally
make sure that you get the best lobsters this time.
| |
Sneek: | -Sounds good to me!
| |
Nilsson: | -He is welcome.
| |
Sneek: | -Thank you, this was very nice of you.
| |
Nilsson: | -Bye.
| |
Sneek: | -Bye-bye.
| |
Nilsson: | -Good bye.
After the conversation Sneek went to the store himself,
introduced himself as director Sneek's driver, and got
his three kilos of fresh lobsters.
