Sneek´s prank calls

Chapter 5
Inspector Sneek, Police Department.

Sneek had difficulties to sleep one night. He was thinking and he remembered this very embarrassing incident on the Vaxholm road. He thought that the entire police system was corrupt and determined to take some revenge. He found a university phone book which one of his frienda had left behind in his apartment. He began to call the poor students and this is how one of the conversations was like:

Lady: -Hallo? (sleepy voice)

Sneek: -May I speak with Sven Andersson?

Lady: -He is sleeping right now. It's three o'clock in the morning!

Sneek: -I am inspector Sneek from the Police Department. It's important.

Lady: -I see! Just a moment, I'll go and get him. ..............

Sven: -Hallo?

Sneek: -Is this Sven Andersson?

Sven: -Yes, that's me.

Sneek: -Inspector Sneek, good afternoon!

Sven: -Good afternoon????

Sneek: -We had a traffic raid downtown tonight....

Sven: -Yes?

Sneek: -....and we have a drunk driver in our custody, his name is Ola Ericsson...and he has no documents with him. He says that you lent him your car, a grey Opel, is that right?

Sven: -No, it's not true. I don't have any car.

Sneek: -Really? Well, consider yourself lucky, this car looks awful. It is actually criminal to drive around with this old jalopy.

Sven: -I see.

Sneek: -Whose car is this? You don't know the owner of this car?

Sven: -No, I don't know anybody by that name.

Sneek: -Ola Ericcson?

Sven: -I don't know any Ola Ericsson.

Sneek: -Really? Very strange. Well, he was awfully tipsy when we found him. He is sleeping in the cell now. He was though able to give  us your name and number! How do you explain that, if I may ask??

Sven: -Well, I don't know. This is very strange.

Sneek: -Can it be one of your friends and that he gave us a false name.  We are not hard with this, specially when somebody is so drunk.

Sven: -I don't know. What does he look like?

Sneek: -Blond, medium tall, normal looks.

Sven: -Well, I don't know.

Sneek: -Can you come here and take a look, so maybe you'll recognize him? You´ll spare yourself a lot of trouble if you could come here right away.

Sven: -When should I come?

Sneek: -Can you come right now. It would be nice to clear this thing up, so we can remove you from the list of suspects.

Sven: -Well, okey, where is it?

Sneek: -The police department in downtown.

Sven: -I'll be there as soon as I can.

Sneek: -Very good. Ask for inspector Sneek!

Sven: -Sneek?

Sneek: -Right.

Sven: -Well, thank you and see you later.

Sneek: -Thank you. Good bye.

Sven: -Good bye.
Sneek called to 18 persons that very night. Only one of them didn't buy the story, and wanted to call back to check. These calls were Sneek's favourite entertainment for some months to come. During that time the downtown police had hundreds of half awake people coming there to ask for inspector Sneek. The news- papers finally stopped his activity with a headline saying: "Phone-terrorist fools people out of beds at night."
