Sneek´s prank calls

Chapter 11
The Civil Defence is practising..

Sneek is living of the fourth floor. In the house opposite his, lives an elderly lady. Sneek found out her name and phone number. He is sitting at the window with the phone so that he can see her balcony.

Lady: -123456.

Sneek: -Good afternoon. This is Sneek from The Civil Defence.

Lady: -Good afternoon.

Sneek: -We are testing the telephones in this area to see how they would work in an emergency situation. Do you have couple of minutes?

Lady: -Yes. Just a second, I have to turn off the stove.

Sneek: -Sure. .....30sec......

Lady: -Hallo

Sneek: -Well, as I already said, we wanted to test the phones in case of emergency. War, natural disasters and such things you know.

Lady: -Yes?

Sneek: -So, lets start with the first point. Can you go two meters from your phone and shout pretty loud "Help!".

Lady: -I see.....help, help.....Hallo?

Sneek: -Excellent! Very good! Can you go out on the balcony and shout "Help!", as loud as you did before.

Lady: -Well, then I have to put the phone down.

Sneek: -Right. So you go to the balcony and shout "Help!".

Lady: -I see, just a moment.....help, help.....Hallo?

Sneek: -Hallo. That wasn't very good. Can you go out again and shout louder this time.

Lady: -Yes, just a moment.....help, help....Hallo?

Sneek: -Yes, it was pretty good, but can you go out and shout as loud as you can, we'll see how that works.

Lady: -I see.......

During that time Sneek can see her going out shouting. The third time she goes out, there are some people in the street. They all look up. One of them says:
Street man: -What's wrong?

The lady is looking down from her balcony and says:

-It's only The Civil Defence practising.

She goes in again.

Lady: -Hallo?

Sneek: -That was really good. You have been a great help. Thank you. Good bye.

Lady: -Good bye.
The crowd looked very confused, but as nothing more happened, they all scattered.
